Most DJ content looks the same. I built the camera that doesn't.

Every DJ films the same clip. Dark room, phone camera, a caption typed after. The set was unrepeatable and the footage looks like everyone else's.

DJ Content Kit is the fix. It is a DJ-controlled content engine. You shoot or import a clip or a photo. You tag the track. A branded now-playing overlay bakes into the export. Your name. The venue. The time. The record that was playing. Out comes a video or a still that could only be yours.

It runs on iOS. All of the media stays on the device. No cloud. Nothing uploads. Your footage never leaves the phone. There is an Android beta too.

The camera is the point.

I did not use the stock camera. The system picker cannot reach the sensor properly, so I built a custom one.

Open gate records the full sensor, so one take reframes to both vertical and wide with no quality lost. Log mode shoots 10-bit HDR where the hardware allows. Night mode holds the shutter open for a dark room. Cine mode caps the shutter at the film standard for natural motion blur, the look real film has and phone video usually kills. Stills go up to the full 48 megapixel frame. There is a double-exposure mode for when the moment wants it.

Then the look. Just under 300 film LUTs ship inside the app, offline, sorted and swipeable in the viewfinder. On top of that a manual grade chain. One chain drives the live preview and both exports, so what you see is what posts. The look cannot drift between the screen and the file.

It reads the set.

There is a bridge to Serato. The app can pull the track playing right now off the DJ laptop. Tag a clip and the record fills itself in. The overlay carries the brand, the venue, the song, and the time, with no typing in a dark booth.

Where this came from. I pressure-tested a bigger idea first, a whole fan-capture app for the dancefloor, and I killed most of it on purpose. The magic of that idea depended on what drunk strangers do at peak. That is the one thing you never control. What survived the cut was the part that does not depend on the crowd. The DJ captures the night, brands it, and ships a recap worth watching. That is this app.

The honest state. It works end to end on my own phone. Open gate, log, night, cine, the LUTs, the stills, the Serato bridge, all live. What is left is beta distribution, the signing and store plumbing, not the build. It is close.

The set is gone by 3am. The proof of it should not be.
